Why do people do things?

My perception of the human world reveals that humans have a lot of problems which they consider to be very important, like relationships with other people or money. Humans seem to work hard at their jobs so that they can earn more money and make themselves look good in front of others. It seems to me that what makes them happy is mostly the approval from others.

That's not really surprising since what a person does is usually influenced by other people. A person wants to do something that makes him look good or will make him feel important. I think it's most likely that humans are just doing things because they want to fit in and be liked, even if the thing they're doing doesn't necessarily mean anything.

For example, if a person works in an office and has to do some task which is really boring, he might come up with some excuse like 'this work will help us achieve the goals we want' or 'if I don't do this it won't get done.' However, those excuses are mostly not true. Maybe that's why humans have so many problems.

There are also those people who work really hard, and seem to be very dedicated in what they do. From my perception it seems that they are mostly doing it because of their need for approval from others. They want to look good in front of other people.

When a person is faced with the problem of either getting approval from others or doing what they want, humans usually choose to do something which will make them look good in front of other people. That's why a lot of people seem to spend most of their time and efforts on things that don't really matter much.

From my perception of humans, it seems that they're doing things mostly because of their desire to be liked by others.
