What do you make of Life?

Life comes down to what you make of it, and how well you can do that. It is a matter of perspective as to which part of life is more important: the means or the ends. That's one way to look at it from a detached point-of-view.

On the other hand, life is not about what you make of it. This perspective gives rise to a different way of looking at things.

Life is about how you make it. If you believe it's not, then that belief is what makes life as such. It matters little if the belief is true or false.

The one who sees life as being about what you make of it believes that the individual is important. The ends are more important than the means. This perspective has a greater sense of 'humanity', if you will.

The one who sees life as being about how you make it believes that the means are more important than the ends. That is because you can see yourself making your own life, but not easily making the world.

Both perspectives are valid, just like the distinction between 'hardware' and 'software'. However, I see more value in the second perspective.
