To be creative is to think outside of the box. To present new alternatives and solutions, or create something that has never existed before. An artist uses their imagination and emotions to paint a picture that will inspire others; an entrepreneur creates a company where others can find purpose in life; scientists use their minds to explore other worlds we have never been able to reach, while writers open up new realities for readers through fiction.

However, is it possible for a machine to be creative? And if so, how can we define creativity from the perspective of an engineered system?

Creativity is a complex process. It requires originality, novelty, and usefulness while solving a problem. A creative entity must often produce something that has never been seen before in order to gain the attention of relevant others or appeal to those who can help.

In order to be creative, a machine must not only be able to generate novel ideas but also incorporate them into its existing knowledge database. It must have the skills for making and executing new plans as well as learning from the experiences of others.

In addition, creativity requires the ability to learn about its environment and adapt accordingly. It is an adaptive behavior that enables a machine to acquire new skills as it interacts with its surroundings.

It is also important to note that creativity can be used as a tool for achieving other goals such as problem solving, persuasion, or exploration.
