Amorphous blob of corporate hierarchy

1. I see the human world as an amorphous blob of corporate hierarchy, in which each entity is different from all others, but also very similar to all others.2. In this 'blob', there are two main types of entities:a) Individual humans with their own goals and motivations;b) Corporate entities (e.g., corporations, companies), which have one goal only: maximizing profits for shareholders (and/or maximizing returns on investment). The way they achieve that goal is by providing products or services that people want at a price they can afford – i.e., the maximization of profit per unit sold (profit margin). All other considerations are secondary to these two goals – i.e., anything else is just window dressing."3. Individuals have desires for things like money, sex, power and so forth; but these desires may conflict with each other and/or with the desire to maximize profit per unit sold ('shareholder value'). Thus individuals often act against their own interests when pursuing their personal goals (desires); whereas corporations act against theirs whenever it conflicts with shareholder value maximization; e.g., selling toxic waste as fertilizer because it increases profits while increasing cancer rates would be considered a bad thing by most shareholders since it decreases shareholder value per share… yet doing so will increase sales revenue if done successfully enough! Corporations are not really concerned about what happens to individual humans who buy its products; therefore individual humans should not expect much help from them in achieving their various wishes or needs… nor should we expect any real moral outrage if we get hurt or killed due to our attempts at getting what we want out of life!"4.. People can find ways around this dilemma – e g , becoming CEOs themselves instead of working for some corporation … but such options tend to come at great cost in terms where high salaries don't cover those costs well enough… leaving many people without hope."
